WHALESHARK FACTS
1. Whale sharks are the largest fish in the world, reaching lengths of up to 40 feet and weighing up to 20 tons.
2. They are filter feeders and primarily consume plankton, small fish, and squid.
3. Whale sharks are found in warm waters around the globe, including the Gulf of Mexico, the Philippines, and Australia's Ningaloo Reef.
4. These gentle giants are not aggressive and generally swim slowly and peacefully through the water.
5. Despite their size, whale sharks are considered vulnerable to extinction due to overfishing and habitat destruction,
and are protected by many countries and international agreements.
